The Marshall Fire: Our Special Coverage

On Dec. 30, 2021, the towns of Louisville and Superior changed forever. Hurricane-force winds spread the Marshall Fire across Boulder County, burning hundreds of structures, displacing tens of thousands of people, causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage, and profoundly impacting the lives of everyone in our community in the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history.

While most wildfires spread across rural areas, the Marshall Fire spread across our suburbs, embers leaping from subdivision to subdivision, igniting people’s homes and destroying people’s lives. Every person in our community has a story of that day.

In this special collaboration of all three programs within MoHi Media – The Mix, Yearbook, and KYOT – students and staff members tell their own stories in their own words, as we look back at what happened that afternoon and evening and look for to ways to rebuild.
