When freshmen walk into the gym on their first day, they are greeted by 360 leaders and commissioners who lead them through their schedule and prepare them for the daily norms of high school.
Mohi 360 is a student mentor group led by Justin Abbott, a Social Studies teacher, and Taryn Cawlfield, a Language Arts teacher. 360’s two primary goals are to welcome freshmen into high school and say goodbye to the seniors as they enter life after high school.
“I met my friend Tanner at that time because we were in the same group. We’ve been friends ever since,” Rose Detloff ‘27 said. “A lot of people make friends on that first day in their 360 groups.”
Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors can sign up to be 360 leaders and commissioners. 360 gives students a chance to be involved and reminded of what high school means apart from academics and extracurriculars.
“The most important part of the program for me is watching them complete that full circle of coming in as scared ninth graders and leaving the gym for the last time as seniors with all these memories and emotions,” Abbott said.
