Mother Earth needs your help! There is a new club at Monarch: the Green Team. The Green Team is in charge of the garden behind the cafeteria, recently nicknamed The Jungle, and meets every Tuesday after school to discuss topics like Monarch’s carbon footprint and global warming.

The club was created by junior Maddie Davis and is sponsored by Mr. Tewalt. There couldn’t be a more motivated and excited ten kids at Monarch.

Future plans for the Green Team include painting pots, growing moss, and possibly building a greenhouse. The club is off to a good start but members agree that everyone is welcome to join.

“We’re gonna grow some stuff and it’s gonna be sick,” junior Izzy Ruscitti said.

Not only will members be helping out Mother Earth, they will be able to meet positive, enthusiastic, like-minded people. And as if it couldn’t get any better, delicious vegan cupcakes will often be served.

“We’re gonna make the world a greener place,” Ruscitti said.
