1. Pay for the meal/drink of the person behind you in the drive thru

Have you ever had someone pay for your food or drink? It gives you faith in humanity again. This act of kindness can turn someone’s lousy day into a great one, so why not give someone a gift that will only cost you a few dollars?

2. Give someone a cheesy smile as you walk past them in the halls

Yes it can be awkward when you see that the entire hallway is completely empty except for you and a kid you’ve never met, but  Mother Teresa once said “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” (goodreads.com) So who knows? Maybe that big cheesy smile might make someones day.

3. Compliment someone’s clothing

This is a kind way to make someone’s day as well as a great way to meet someone new.

change

4. Put change in someone else’s parking meter

This is a nice secret act of kindness that will do an act of service to a stranger. It only costs a few extra cents, and it can ensure that that person’s car doesn’t get towed!

5. Share! (Not only tangible things, but also your experiences!)

We all learned this lesson in Kindergarten, but how valuable is it? We say it’s one of the most important things you can do for another person.  Trevor Blake, a blogger, shares his own opinion on the importance of sharing in this podcast. http://trevorgblake.com/?powerpress_pinw=2212-podcast

tip

6. Give a good tip when at a restaurant

Waiters and waitresses are some of the most underpaid and undervalued working people in America. Leaving a good tip is a nice way to show how much you appreciate them.

Starbucks

7. Already at Starbucks? Buy one for your friend too!

At some point in your life, you have probably been to a Starbucks. Next time you decide you want on vanilla bean frappuccino on a hot summer’s day, get one for someone that you know.

9. Write someone a handwritten letter

People have been writing letters for centuries. This is an old-timey action that may end up meaning a lot to someone.

10. Call someone you love and tell them you love them

Telling someone how grateful you are to have them in your life is extremely undervalued. Take 10 minutes out of your life and call up someone that has made a difference in your life.
