To whom it may concern,

I am a student at Monarch High School and would like to voice my support for the composting campaigns that many schools in BVSD have begun. Since so much food is wasted, especially in schools, I think that this is a great way for students to understand the scope of the problem and ways that they can begin to address it. The schools, like Louisville Middle School, that have implemented this program did so because of it’s popularity among the students.  I hope that with more support for the program, more schools will begin to implement composting facilities. The benefits include better soil wherever the compost goes, an understanding of food waste, and a good way to get rid of food waste without contributing more to the landfill. I hope that someday there will be composting facilities at Monarch!
