Shelter
– Find a place with strong, solid walls, food, water, a comfortable place to sleep, and weapons. If your home is newly built and up to code, you might be able to hide there. If not, a bunker, abandoned supermarket, mall and/or department store, or even an office building will do. Draw the shades and keep your weapons close!
Food
– Stock up on foods that won’t go bad. Beans, nuts, canned vegetables, dried fruit. Don’t worry—instant coffee won’t go bad either! Make sure to eat foods that won’t take forever to prepare or cook but will still provide nutrients. If you’re going to eat meat or drink water, be sure to boil it to purify it!
Weapons
– Long-range weapons, such as rifles, will be a good way to avoid getting too close to the zombies to fight them. Don’t use a dagger or a knife unless it’s your last resort! If you’re close enough to a zombie to stab them, they’re close enough to bite you!
Misc
– Zombies aren’t exactly the smartest creatures. Distract them by throwing some old meat in a different direction. Other things work, too, but just make sure they smell like brains!
– Shower often to make it harder for zombies to track your scent.
– If you have to go up to the surface, go fast. Know what you’re there for and where to find it, plan your route, bring your weapons, and hurry. Use side streets and close doors behind you.
– Stick with people you trust, but make sure your group isn’t too large. The more people there are, the easier it is for zombies to find you.
– Some people think that a human biting a zombie could restore the zombie to health. I wouldn’t trust them personally, but eh, you do you.
Best of luck, survivor.
