Art can come in many forms. For staff member Leah Franke (11), it comes in the form of drawing people and objects at any chance she gets.

“Next semester I’ll be taking Portfolio, which is basically working on art specifically for a portfolio that I could send to colleges,” Franke said. “I really like drawing people. I’m not good at it, but I like doing it.”

Art has been a part of her life for six years, but it isn’t her only interest. Franke has also drawn inspiration from her mom, who has worked with ILC students before switching to a job at the front desk.

“When my mom worked in the ILC, she would come home with stories from what she was experiencing with the kids and things like that,” Franke said. “It kind of seems interesting, and maybe something that I would try doing, like, working with people with disabilities.”
