The year 2013 was inspiring for my six-year-old self. First grade was an important year because it demonstrated my most canon era of outfit styling, the most iconic being the patterned, capri leggings I used to rock. Yeah, that’s right. Wearing patterned, capri leggings is my canon event. Six-year-old me was unstoppable in them. I had matching shirts to go with every pair I owned. As far as the patterns went, most of my leggings came in shades of muted blue, green, or yellow and were striped or polka-dotted. I had a few pairs where the design was stitched into the pants to look like a flower or butterfly. Some of them even flared at the bottom with layers of fabric or sequins and had little patches sewn in everywhere. My leggings were hippy and aesthetically pleasing; all my mother’s friends adored them. I especially loved them. I undoubtedly had the best style in all of my first-grade class.
